Walking and staying healthy and safe during the Rotary 2020 Walking Challenge will not only benefit our personal health but will also contribute to our community health as we are reducing the carbon footprint every step we are not driving a car.
Walking 1 km produces ~190 grams less CO2 than driving an average gas fuelled car the same distance. ***
So, if the group cumulatively reaches 10M steps during the Challenge (that is over 7,000 km!), there would be a 1,515 Kg CO2 emission reduction. That is the CO2 emission equivalent of producing 18,297 500 ml plastic water bottles! ***
